Description

Zinnia elegans

This gorgeous novelty is one of the most prolifically blooming zinnias I’ve ever grown. Its petite, double blooms are a warm mix of salmon and peach and combine well with anything. Long, strong stems and small flower size make them a winning summer crop and wonderful bouquet addition.

Plant type: annual
Height: 30-40”
Amount of sun: full sun
Days to maturity: 75-90 days
Plant spacing: 9-12”
Pinch: when 12” tall
Approx seeds per packet: 50

How to grow:
Start seed indoors in trays 4-6 weeks before last frost; transplant out after all danger of frost has passed. Zinnias can also be direct seeded once weather has warmed.

Harvesting/vase life:
Grab the stem about 8” down from the flower and gently shake the stem. If the stem is droopy or bends much at all, it is not quite ready to cut. If the stem is stiff and remains erect, it is ready to harvest. If floral preservative is added to the water, zinnias should last 7-10 days in the vase.
