Description

Zinnia haageana

This brilliant, eye-catching mix includes a wide range of miniature bicolor blooms in shades of buttercream, gold, cranberry, rust and merlot. While plants themselves are compact, they churn out an abundant amount of stems for cutting from midsummer to early autumn.

Plant type: annual
Height: 18-24”
Amount of sun: full sun
Days to maturity: 75-90 days
Plant spacing: 9-12”
Pinch: when 12” tall
Approx seeds per packet: 100

How to grow:
Start seed indoors in trays 4-6 weeks before last frost; transplant out after all danger of frost has passed. Zinnias can also be direct seeded once weather has warmed.

Harvesting/vase life:
Grab the stem about 8” down from the flower and gently shake the stem. If the stem is droopy or bends much at all, it is not quite ready to cut. If the stem is stiff and remains erect, it is ready to harvest. If floral preservative is added to the water, zinnias should last 7-10 days in the vase.
